06 Jun FODMAP Friendly Websites
The low FODMAP diet was developed to help relieve individuals who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). IBS is characterized by symptoms of: lower abdominal pain and discomfort, bloating, gas, distension, altered bowel habits, (constipation/diarrhea).
Research has shown that 75% of IBS patients can benefit from a low FODMAP diet. It is important to have a formal diagnosis of IBS and to rule out other insidious conditions that may be underlying, such as: diverticulitis, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal cancer.
Beginning a new diet can be overwhelming, so we have complied a list of helpful websites.
